Gamma Delta Chapter of Lincoln Nebraska Featured in Local Newspaper

The Gamma Delta Chapter of Lincoln Nebraska was recognized by local newspaper, the Journal Star and online at journalstar.com on June 28th. The article highlights hard work of ESA and details on the local chapter and how they contribute to the community including volunteer work for  People's City Mission, Friendship Home, Fresh Start, Kids Against Hunger and the Gathering place. Gamma Delta also supports Operation Santa Clause, the Humane Society, Blue Star Mothers, Make-A-Wish Foundtion and of course, St. Jude Childres Research Hospital. Debbie Vercellono, ESA Nebraska president was quoted, as well as Dora Dill, who has been an active member for since 1964. Jo Ellen Becker has been an active ESA member for over 40 years, and when her daughter underwent chemotherapy treatment for cancer, The Gamma Delta members hosted a special fundraiser and raised $15,000 to help pay for the additional medical costs of treatment and surgery. Becker is happy to report that today her daughter is doing well. This is only one story that was featured in the article, showing that ESA is about more than fundraising or volunteering--it is about making a difference.

Local media coverage is special, and is important for sharing the mission of ESA. If your chapter or event has been featured in local media, be sure to send it to ESA HQ.
