How to sign up for St. Jude VMS Events
Introduction
When ESA members volunteer at St. Jude or ALSAC-hosted events, it’s essential to track your hours properly so your impact is counted by both ESA and St. Jude. For these specific events, we use the Volunteer Management System (VMS) hosted by ALSAC (the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude).
LESSON
What Is the VMS?
The Volunteer Management System (VMS) is ALSAC’s official platform where volunteers can:
- View upcoming St. Jude and ALSAC event opportunities
- Sign up for volunteer shifts
How to Use VMS to Track St. Jude Volunteer Hours
Register or Log In
- Go to volunteer.stjude.org
- If you haven’t already, create an account using your email address and a password
- If you already have an account, simply log in
Search for Opportunities
- Use the event calendar or search bar to find upcoming volunteer events in your area (such as St. Jude Walk, radiothons, galas, etc.)
- Click into any event listing to see available shifts and descriptions
Sign Up for a Shift
- Choose your preferred time slot
- Click “Sign Up” . Your commitment is now saved in the system
After Your Shift: Confirm Completion
- Log back in to your VMS account
- Go to your Dashboard
- Click “Report Hours"
- Find your completed shift and mark it as “Attended” or complete any follow-up survey
- This ensures your hours are officially logged with St. Jude
Important Notes
- This process is only for official ALSAC/St. Jude events coordinated through the VMS.
- Any other service activities (including chapter-led fundraisers, personal service, or local partner events) must still be reported to your ESA chapter and state Philanthropic Chair using your regular tracking method.
- Only confirmed and completed shifts through VMS will be included in St. Jude’s annual ESA volunteer hour totals.
Final Thoughts
Logging your hours through VMS ensures that your support at ALSAC-hosted events is counted by St. Jude and ESA. It’s a simple way to make sure your volunteer time helps show ESA’s incredible national impact
