ESA and Easter Seals

Easter Seals is the leading non-profit provider for individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, physical and mental disabilities and other special needs. For more than 90 years, Easter Seals has been offering help and hope to children and adults living with disabilities, and to the families who love them. Through therapy, training, education and support services, Easter Seals creates life-changing solutions so that people with disabilities can live, learn, work and play in their communities.

ESA has been a proud supporter of Easter Seals since 1984, volunteering time to help raise more than $5.9 million. Because of the support of Epsilon Sigma Alpha, Easter Seals is able to provide services to the 1.5 million children and adults with disabilities.

ESA members participate in a variety of events to raise funds for Easter Seals and also donate their time to volunteer with local Easter Seals affiliates. Among the fundraising initiatives ESA supports with Easter Seals are:

  • Camp Hope -- a program designed to provide camping opportunities for children of military families (to date ESA has contributed more than $18,600 to this program) that makes it possible for military families to enjoy a camping opportunity where they can share their experiences with other service members' children.
  • Cartridges For Kids -- Easter Seals' national recycling program through which Easter Seals receives cash for recycled items and anyone can participate -- chapter members, friends, family, neighbors and co-workers.
