Making a difference in your hometown.
ESA chapters and individual members participate in a variety of service projects in their hometowns. Generally, projects are organized to assist those in need - especially children, women, the sick, and elderly. From supporting local hospices to helping build Habitat for Humanity homes, ESA members do it all.
Specific projects vary, but include partnering with local affiliates of groups such as Easter Seals, Habitat for Humanity, Share Our Strength, Heifer International, March of Dimes, Make-a-Wish Foundation, Special Olympics, ARC, Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and others.
Local members and chapters also provide support for local children’s camps such as Camp Riley (Indiana); specialized schools such as the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind and Heartspring (Kansas); and groups that meet specialized needs of individuals including hospices and Meals on Wheels.
Members are actively involved in organizing events to support scholarship programs, often in conjunction with the work of the ESA Foundation.
ESA encourages members to take note of local needs and imaginatively pursue projects and programs that will benefit and enhance the quality of life in their local communities.
“There’s always something new and exciting to do in ESA.”
