Martha Stickland Endowment

Martha Stickland Endowment

The Martha Stickland Endowment was established by Epsilon Lambda Chapter #3440 of Cocoa Beach, Florida June 20, 1996. The first scholarship was awarded in 1999.

Martha Stickland is the remaining charter member of Epsilon Lambda Chapter which was chartered in March, 1966. She has held all chapter offices as well as all offices in the Missile Area Council.

In 1989, the Missile Area Council nominated and presented Martha with the prestigious Dixie Palmer Lady Award of the ESA Foundation. Epsilon Lambda honored her in 1996 by starting an endowment in her name.

When asked who she wanted to receive the scholarships, she said she wanted it to be for women who needed to educate themselves. In 1944, Martha faced not only divorce, but also finding a way to support herself and her two small sons, so she understands how had and sometimes frightening that can be.

In 1959, she married Bob Stickland and in 1966 she acquired an additional family by joining ESA. She opens her heart and home to her ESA sisters just because they are her sisters and she has earned their love and respect. Martha Stickland is the foundation of Epsilon Lambda Chapter and is honored by this endowment.
