Pillow Talk at Gamma Iota
Laurel, MS – Members of Gamma Iota Chapter of Laurel, MS gathered at the home of President Judy to sew, iron and fold bright colored pillow cases for “Ariel’s Pillowcase Project.”
The project was started by Margann Ball who lost her daughter, Ariel, in 2008 to osteocarcinoma, a rare bone cancer. During Ariel’s fight against cancer at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, she received pillowcases donated to patients at the hospital. Remembering the joy the pillowcases brought her daughter during dark times Margann started the pillowcase project to celebrate her daughter’s life.
Pillowcases made are donated to patients at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN, Batson Children’s Hospital in Jackson, MS and Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, LA.
Gamma Iota’s participation in this project will be on-going to bring a bit of cheer to sick children.
Way to go Gamma Iota! Keep up the excellent work!
