2012 Dream Home Ticket Sales exceed $680,000

Ooltewah, TN-The planning begins early in the year. Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA) volunteers are trained in procedures but no training is needed to make sure that Dream Home visitors are made to feel welcome – ESA ladies excel in that area. Chapter members know that each May means St. Jude Dream Home time. The ladies clamor to sign up for five-hour shifts for each of the seven weekends until the last week of the open house when the home is open for extended hours and the number of guests often exceed 1,000 the day before the Giveaway. As the clock ticked down on the 2012 Dream Home Giveaway on June 24, Mary Makooi was named the winner of the Dream Home in beautiful Georgetown Bay subdivision.

As ESA celebrates 40 years of partnership with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the annual convention in Norman, OK will focus on recommitting our time and ourselves to the hospital. Having raised more than $150 million for St. Jude in 40 years, Tennessee is always proud to be recognized as one of the top ten state fund raisers.

The next two events that local ESA chapters will support include the St. Jude Rodeo, August 2-3-4 at Doug Yates Farm in Ringgold, GA and the “Give thanks.Walk” on November 17 at Hamilton Place Mall.
