ETA Kappa Members Thanked By Easter Seals

Rancho Bernaro, CA- Members of the ETA Kappa Chapter from Torrance, CA, were surprised to see their faces on the most recent thank you flyer sent from Easter Seals after the "Celebration of Giving 2011" event.

The thank you was well deserved, as members Carole Hockenbarger, Laurie Walton and Kathy Quadrato have 67 combined years of volunteer support for Easter Seals. This year marked Quadrato's 29th year of service.

Each of them traveled to Easter Seal Corporate Week that was held in California to volunteer. They were responsible for arriving to the event a day early to open boxes sent from corporate sponsors and to create an assembly line to help fill 300 goodie bags that were given out at the event.

Quadrato became involved with the Easter Seals telethon in 1983 that required 400 volunteers to staff the 24 hour event. According to Quadrato, ESA was responsible for making sure the volunteer room ran smoothly. The telethons ran until 1998 and ESA members transitioned into new volunteer roles as needed.

Since the departure of the telethon, the Easter Seals event has been held in Hollywood, CA, Las Vegas, NV and now Rancho Bernardo Resort in California. Walton and Hockenbarger are members at a distance, and travel across the country to maintain their loyal volunteer service with Quadrato.

These dedicated members are deserving of a giant thank you for their dedication and service to ESA and Easter Seals, great job ETA Kappa members!
