ESA HOSTS MAJOR GALA EVENT IN VAIL, CO
ESA Chapter Iota Alpha 5550 of Vail, CO is proud to host a melodious blend of classical and folk music infused with commentary that will be brought to life by Eugenia Zukerman on August 10, 2011. The concert will include the musical talent of Zukerman, her daughter Natalia and percussionist Mona Tavakoli.
Vail’s Interfaith Chapel will host the event, “A Celebration of Family in Music, Words, and Images” beginning at 6 p.m. The concert will be followed by a gourmet dinner at the Four Seasons Resort in Vail, just one block away from Interfaith Chapel.
Musical guest Eugenia Zukerman has taken on many roles in her life beyond being a gifted flutist. This includes a career as a journalist for CBS News Sunday Morning as their Classical Music Correspondent and the former Artistic Director of Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival.
Zukerman has also published two novels, Deceptive Cadence and Taking the Heat, and contributed to and edited an anthology of essays titled In My Mother’s Closet, which compiles the relationships of over 40 mothers and their daughters.
The concert is being held to benefit Roundup River Ranch, an organization that provides camp experiences to children with life-threatening illnesses. Spread across 85 acres in Gypsum, CO, the camp is set to open in July of 2011 and will offer four camp sessions during this first summer season. Additional family programs will also be offered in the fall and spring.
The camp is geared towards children ages seven to 17 years old who reside in Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region. Medical partners for the camp include The Children’s Hospital, National Jewish Healthy, Rock Mountain Hospital for Children :P/SL, and Vail Valley Medical Center.
