Dalton's Divas Step Out for ASK
Richmond, VA- The Beta Sigma Chapter of Richmond, VA, walked its way into raising $1,250 by participating in the 6th Annual Association for the Support of Children with Cancer (ASK) 5K Fun Walk/Run. The Beta Sigma members sported their “Dalton’s Divas” event signs not only to support the cause, which raised $140,000 total, but for a cause that hits closer to home.
Dalton, one of the chapter sister’s son, was diagnosed with cancer when he was 4 years old. Today, Dalton and his divas now celebrate him being cancer free by participating in the event.
“Dalton has been speaking out on the benefits of exercise and continuing to encourage us to keep moving,” Theresa Morris, chapter member and Dalton’s mother, said.
ASK, founded in 1975 in Richmond, VA, has a simple mission – to make life better for kids with cancer. By providing multiple means of support through financial, spiritual or emotional support, ASK and Dalton’s Divas continue to move towards supporting children with a higher quality of life, outside of the hospital.
Congratulations Beta Sigma on lacing up those running shoes and stepping out for an amazing cause!
